My Biography

My name is Emma Andres and I attend Rocklin High School as a sophomore. This season will be my 3rd year as a level 10 gymnast. My gymnastics career began at the age of two in a nearby recreational program and by the age of five I was attending Byers Roseville Gymnastics Center where I currently train 23 hours per week. Performing at such a high level has taught me several life skills. I have learned the importance of hard work and striving to improve each day. I have had many set backs as a gymnast and have applied these techniques to get back to what I love.

One of my goals is to qualify for the 2017 J.O. National Championships.
Another goal is to attend a college ranked high in academics. My career goals are in the medical field so I want to attend a college that has a strong science program.
Another goal is to go to a college that has a competitive gymnastics team where I can be a leader and compete and contribute to the team.

My Skills

Vault competed this season was a Yurchenko Layout Full.
Bars: Kip cast, Shaposh, up rise, clear hip shoot over, kip squat-on, kip cast, blind full, double twist dismount.
Other bar skills: Weiler kip, double tuck dismount.
Beam: Round off layout step out, switch 1/2 to straddle jump, Gainer layout, 1 1/2 wolf turn, round off double twist dismount.
Floor: 2 1/2 twist to front tuck, roundoff double back, front handspring Rudy split jump.
Dance skills: switch side to straddle full, switch half straddle full, double turn.
Skills being trained: double pike, front full front pike, roundoff 2 1/2 front pike, triple twist,

Some of My Favorite Things

My teammates hold a special place in my heart. I've trained with them, competed with them and played with them for years. They truly understand me and they are my best friends.
I love snowboarding , surfing and swimming. I've played the piano for 8 years and continue to take lessons. I also taught myself how to play the guitar and ukulele. I love to draw and paint and I'm constantly cooking up new recipes that I've made up.
