Kylie Anne Moran was born in Norwood, Massachusetts on June 25, 1999. When Kylie was a toddler she enrolled in a tumbling class, and when she was in second grade she enrolled in gymnastics classes at Gymfest of the Berkshire.
Kylie started her level 4 season at Gymfest, but halfway through the season her family moved, so she moved to train at New England Sports Academy. As a level 4, Kylie won the vault, beam, floor and all around titles at the Massachusetts State Meet. In the fall of 2009 she started competing level 5 and won four all around titles while she was competing as a level 5. One of these titles included the level 5 state all around title. In the fall of 2010 Kylie started her level 6 season where she won her first level 6 meet at the Massachusetts Judges Cup. She went on to compete at the level 6 state meet where she won all four events including the all around with a 38.650.
In the Winter of 2012, Kylie started competing level 7. Right before her first meet, Kylie broke her wrist. She stayed strong and although she missed the first few meets, she came back and started her season at the Sand Dollar Invitational. At her first level 7 meet she won the beam title and at the next meet, she qualified for state. At the level 7 state meet, Kylie won the beam, floor, and the all around title.
Prior to the 2013 season, Kylie switched clubs to Brestyan’s American Gymnastics, home of two time Olympic gold medalist, Aly Raisman. She competed the full level 8 season and qualified to state. Unfortunately, Kylie just missed qualifying to regionals, but placed second on floor at the state meet.
Kylie repeated level 8 in 2014 due to breaking her ankle right before meet season. and came into the season stronger than ever. At the first meet of the season, she finished in the top three in the all around. After winning the all around title at the Heartland Spring Classic and the floor title at the Starlight Invitational, Kylie competed at the Massachusetts State Meet. At state, she took a bronze on vault, bars, a gold on floor, and a silver in the all around. Her all around score and placement qualified her to the Level 8 Region 6 Championships. At Regionals, Kylie placed second on vault, third on floor, and placed in the top 5 in the all around. Kylie started her 2015 level 9 season at the Yellow Jackets Holiday Meet. She finished 3rd on bars and 6th all around.
Currently, Kylie trains at Elite Gymnastics Academy in Ashland, Massachusetts, but she is out with an injury, holding her back from the 2015 level 9 season. She is coached by Ivan Ivanov, Jacqui Olsen and Tara Pasiakos and trains 20 hours per week. Kylie’s main goal in gymnastics is to compete in college and hopefully obtain a scholarship for gymnastics. Outside of gymnastics Kylie enjoys hanging out with her friends and she coaches the Special Olympics.
