Lily is 12 years old and in the 7th grade. She will be entering her second season as a level 10 in 2019 and will also be attempting to qualify as a Junior Elite. This past year she competed as a first year level 10 while also competing in her first season of HOPES. She won the all around title at her first two meets as a level 10 (The Gopher Invite and the Chows Winter Classic). At her first level 10 state meet she placed 3rd in the all around and qualified to Region 4 Regionals. At regionals she placed 3rd in the all around again and earned her spot at level 10 Nationals! At her first ever level 10 Nationals she placed 5th in the all around, with a score of 37.775. She earned her HOPES compulsory qualifier score at her first national qualifier, the City of Lights meet in Orlando, Florida. She earned her HOPES optional qualifier score at the Auburn elite qualifier meet in Tacoma, Washington. Having earned both her optional and compulsory qualifier scores qualified her to compete in the HOPES Classic meet in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the HOPES Classic meet she placed 2nd in the all around with a score of 51.050, this qualified her to compete in the HOPES Championship meet in Columbus, Ohio. At the HOPES Championship meet she placed 4th in the all around with a score of 50.20 and was named to the HOPES National Team. Lily's journey to becoming an elite gymnast started when she was 8 years old. She began competing as a level 3 when she was 8 years old, she then competed as a level 4 when she was 9 years old, then as a level 5 and 7 when she was 10 years old. She competed as a level 8 when she was 11 years old, when she was a part of the Minnesota Super 8 Team. She scored out of level 9 when she was 12 years old. So in just 4 short years she went from a level 3 to a level 10/HOPES gymnast. She trains a maximum of 25 hours per week. She is still enrolled in public school and hopes to continue to be in public school for as long as possible.
