Maya has been competing for Capital Gymnastics in Cedar Park, TX since she was eight years old. She has consistently appeared on America's Top 100 scores, totaling 23 times in the span of 8 years. She has won the all-around at the Texas State Championship twice, once in 2010 and again in 2016. In 2017, she placed first all-around at the J.O. National Championship in Indianapolis, Indiana, along with claiming second on bars and third on floor. This performance earned her a spot on the J.O. National Team. Throughout the majority of the 2017 competition season Maya was ranked top 5 on floor. Her personal best, a 38.8 all-around, was achieved early on in the 2017 season. Her goals for the 2018 season include earning a 39.0 all-around, qualifying for the Nastia Liukin Cup, and defending her national title.
