Maggie Nichols is a former elite gymnast from Twin City Twisters in Little Canada, MN. In 2015, Maggie placed second at the P&G Championships right behind 3x World Champion, Simone Biles. Maggie made the World Championships team and was the only girl from Team USA to compete all 4 events in team finals. She also qualified to floor event finals where she took home a bronze medal.
Following the 2015 season, Nichols was considered a lock for the 2016 Olympic Team. Unfortunately, a torn meniscus in training during April 2016 interrupted her training for the 2016 Olympic Trials. Nichols was able to get back into shape and compete at the Olympic Trials. She finished 6th all around, ahead of 2012 Olympic Champion, Gabrielle Douglas. Maggie did not make the 2016 Olympic Team, and shortly after retired from elite. Maggie will be headed off to the University of Oklahoma for the 2016-2017 NCAA Season.
