ProScore: How to find and send your meet's XML file
When you publish scores from ProScore to MeetScoresOnline (MSO), ProScore builds an
XML data file containing exactly what it is sending to MSO and saves it on the scoring
computer. If a publish fails, shows an error (for example "Unexpected error caught"
or "Unable to interpret the response from MSO"), or results look wrong on MSO, we
may ask you for this file. It lets us see exactly what ProScore sent, so we can test
it on our side and tell whether the problem is in the data or on MSO.
You don't need to create or export anything by hand. ProScore writes the file automatically
every time you publish.
What you need
- The computer you scored the meet on, running the latest version of ProScore
- Your email, so you can attach the file
Steps
- Open the meet in ProScore and load your publish queue. Include only the items that are having the problem, for example the one session,
level, and age division (or the one team item) that won't publish correctly. Keeping
it small makes the file easier for us to troubleshoot.
- Publish to MSO the way you normally do. It's fine if the error shows up again. ProScore saves the XML file when it tries
to publish, whether or not the publish succeeds.
- Open the ProScore folder on your computer. In Windows File Explorer, go to the ProScore folder at the root of the C: drive:
C:\ProScore
- Find the file named
MSOUpload.xml. This is the file we need. You'll usually see one or two other .xml files beside it, such as MSOResponse.xml (MSO's reply to ProScore). If you're not sure which file is which, send all the .xml files in that folder.
- Don't open or edit the file. Send it exactly as ProScore saved it.
- Email the file to us. Reply to your support email, or write to admin@meetscoresonline.com, and attach
MSOUpload.xml (and MSOResponse.xml if it's there). In the email, include:
- your meet name and MSO Meet ID
- which session, level, division, or team you were publishing
- the exact error message, if you got one (a screenshot of the ProScore MSO Publishing
screen helps)
Tips
- Send the file right after you try to publish. ProScore writes the file each time it publishes, so the copy in the folder matches
your most recent attempt. If you publish something else first, the file will no longer
show the problem.
- Can't find
C:\ProScore? Look in the folder where ProScore is installed. That's where it saves its publish
files. If you still can't find it, send us a screenshot of your ProScore publish screen
and we'll help you locate it.
- We may also ask for your PTF backup. If we need more detail, we'll ask you to send the ProScore PTF file for the meet.
Please send the XML file first.
