Isabella Lopez was born on November 17, 2006, to parents Michelle and Adam Lopez. Isabella got her start in gymnastics when she started recreational gymnastics at the age of 2 at Airborne Gymnastics in Santa Clara, CA. Isabella began competing level 4 at the age of seven with California Gymnastics Academy. At the 2014 NorCal North Level 4 State Championships, Isabella finished third on floor, second on vault, and first on bars, beam, and in the all around. Isabella moved up to level 5 and competed during the Fall 2015 season where she placed third on bars and second on vault at the NorCal Level 5 State Meet. Isabella’s optional career began as a level 6 at the 2016 Novato Classic where she won the bronze in the all around. At the 2016 NorCal State Championships, Isabella took home the silver on vault and fifth all around. After the 2016 season, Isabella began training at San Mateo Gymnastics and competed level 7 during the 2017 Season. At the Level 7 State Championships, Isabella finished second on vault, and took home the gold medals on bars, beam, floor, and in the all around, making the NorCal State Team. Isabella had another great meet at the Region 1 Championships where she finished second all around in a tough age division. Currently, Isabella trains 35 hours per week under head coaches Armen Astoian and Oksana Bystrova at San Mateo Gymnastics in Belmont, CA. Isabella is competing level 8 right now and her goal is to score a 9.900 on bars and a 39.000 in the all around. In the future, Isabella hopes to earn a college scholarship for a D1 Gymnastics Team and represent Team USA at the 2024 Olympics.
