I was three years old when my grandmother (Ome) enrolled me in Mommy and Me recreational class at Riverview Gymnastic Center. I have always had a lot of energy and couldn’t sit still, so it was the perfect fit. Over the years my love for this sport grew. I have worked hard to balance gymnastics with my schoolwork, remaining focused when it comes to achieving my goals and maintaining honor roll throughout Elementary, Middle and High School. I have earned placements at the State, Regionals and Eastern Championships. My personal goal is to compete for a Division 1 college gymnastics team. I have had the opportunity to work with many coaches that instilled the passion for gymnastic in my earlier years of compulsory competition. My coaches were Jami, Loni and Talaia each coach took pride and joy seeing me move up in the competitive levels 4-7 (scoring out of level 3) with lots of support and patience. These coaches helped push me to achieve my personal goals, in ways that left a long-lasting impression. The gym was a thriving environment of respect, discipline and of course FUN! At the end of the season in 2017 after States, I made the decision to change gyms. I realized that my skill level had outgrown my coaches and this gym. World Class Gymnastics Training Center was where I needed to be to work towards fulfilling my dreams of becoming a college gymnast. I started my training at World Class Gymnastics in Newport News, VA with a new team, new coaches, and a much larger gym. My coaches are Tami, Rex, Beka and Mary, who have taught me so much that it is immeasurable. Level 8 season 2017-2018 was a phenomenal year with these coaches who pushed me to my potential. I placed 3rd AA 37.975 in the 2018 State VA Championship and placed 1st on Bars with the title 2018 Va State Bars Champion. At Regionals 2019 placing 2nd AA with a 38.000, 2nd on Floor, 3rd Beam, 4th Bars. I was nominated as one of Top 10 Gymnast of the Year in 2018 by I would like to thank MSO for considering me, it is a privilege to represent them as well as my gym. In 2018-2019 Level 9 season review. At the 2019 Virginia State Championships placing 2nd AA 37.250, 2nd Vault, 2nd Bars, 4th Beam. 2019 Regionals placing 1st AA with a 37.975, 1st on Floor as Regionals Floor Champion, 2nd beam. 2019 Eastern Level 9 ,placing 8th in the AA 37.250, 7th on Vault. I will always appreciate the strong support of gymnastics and the camaraderie it brings. Thank you, World Class, for selecting me as the most Valuable Gymnast of 2019, and thank you MSO too, for nominating me once again as one of the Top 25 Gymnast of the Year for 2019. For 2019-2020 season, we are faced with COVID epidemic, most all the meets were cancelled, and gyms were closed for months. Before the season ended abruptly, I placed 1st AA at the Myrtle Beach Cup, New Year Opener, Everest Classic and Excalibur Cup. Placing 2nd AA at the World Class Invitational and Circle of Stars Invitational. I was on a roll before it was all halted. No States or Regionals would take place as COVID shuts down all gyms with no estimated time of returning! We would spend months conditioning at home before the gym could reopen. As the 2020-2021 season started my first year as a Level 10, COVID mandated shutdowns, our gym was closed for 3 or more months. Our time would be limited to training for the upcoming season on new skills. When our gym finally reopened several restrictions were applied, reduced practice schedule, limited number of gymnasts in the gym, required to wear a mask, no water fountains and bring your own supplies. It has been an unexpected season for everyone to say the least, the meets limited spectators or none, virtual zoom meets and mask requirements. With a few of setbacks in my training. I persevered to finish the season as a Level 10, with a placement at Virginia State Meet 5th AA and 5th on all events. At Regionals placing 11th AA, 4th on beam. I would like to thank all my coaches throughout these years, for pushing me to my potential. Each coach has inspired me to become not just a better athlete, but a better person as well. I will always have fond memories of the time we spent together, working towards my goals. You gave me the encouragement I needed to believe in myself. Thank you!
