Jersey started gymnastics when she was 3 years old at a recreational gym. With lots of energy to burn and no fear, she tumble her way to 3 classes a week! At 4 years old she was in the advanced 2-hour class with teens!! Her love for the sport grew very fast! The need for more eventually lead her to try out for the competitive team, not being old enough to compete until she was 6 , she had plenty of time to learn the compulsory routine and a few extra skills. She attended meets to cheer on her teammates.
Jersey had the opportunity to work with many coaches at this gym. Each instilled the passion for gymnastic in her earlier years of compulsory competition. These coaches took pride in seeing Jersey move up in the competitive Levels (scoring out of level 3). Giving her the support and patience needed at such a young age, to push her towards achieving her personal goals in ways that left a long-lasting impression. At the end of the season in 2017, Jersey realized her skill level had outgrown the coaches and gym she had attended all these years with the same competition Coaches. She stepped out of her comfort zone, and moved to a much larger facility to train towards fulfilling her goal of becoming a College Gymnast.
Jersey’s training at World Class Gymnastics in Newport News started with a new team, new coaches, and a much larger gym. Her coaches Tami, Rex, Beka and Mary, have taught her so much that it is immeasurable.
2017-2018 Level 8. This was a phenomenal year with her new coaches who pushed her beyond her potential and helped her strive for more. Jersey was nominated as one of Top 10 Gymnast of the Year in 2018 by MSO www.mymeetscores.com it was a privilege for her to represent them as well as being a World Class Gymnast.

2020-2021 Level 10 ~ COVID mandated shutdowns limiting the time to train. When the gym finally reopens there are restrictions such as a reduced practice schedule. It was an unexpected season as meets also had limited spectators and several were held as a virtual zoom meets. With a few of setbacks of my own, testing positive for COVID, as I regained my strength, to persevered and finish the season. 2022 Season started out with a few meets under my belt before a set back with a broken foot. My come back meet was States, only competing 2 events to save my foot for Regionals. As I look forward to next season, my goals is to work hard over the summer on new skills and qualify for Nationals.

Jersey has always worked very hard to balance gymnastics hours with her schoolwork. Keeping her focused on achieving her goals and maintaining honor roll throughout elementary, middle, and high school with placements in AP classes as an A, A/B Honor Roll Student.
