Jordan's journey in gymnastics began at a young age when he discovered his love for
the sport at a birthday party. Despite trying other sports, his passion for gymnastics
never wavered. In January 2020, he joined his first gymnastics recreation class, but
the pandemic briefly interrupted his training. During this time, Jordan turned to
YouTube for inspiration, watching videos of his favorite gymnasts such as Sam Makulik,
Yul Moldauer, and Brody Malone, and Donnel Wittenberg, fueling his determination.
At 7 years old, Jordan joined the Level 3 Team at Metropolitan Gymnastics in Region
2, coached by Jocelyn Sultz. His dedication paid off when he achieved 2nd place AA
in the Washington State Championship. After moving to San Antonio, Texas at 8 years
old, Jordan continued his gymnastics journey at Powerhouse Gymnastics, where Coaches
Ben, Glenn, and Elisia focused on honing his fundamental skills. With their guidance,
Jordan mastered techniques such as back hand springs, pirouettes, flairs, and kips,
leading to a 3rd Place AA finish in Region 3 during his Level 4 season.
Upon relocating to the Bay Area, California, Jordan found a new gymnastics home at
Liberty Gymnastics, where he was coached by Diana Barboza and Eric Totman. Under their
mentorship, Jordan thrived and formed a strong connection with Coach Eric, who inspired
him with new possibilities. His teammates Trae Inuguai and Bryson Fung became his
partners in progress, providing motivation and friendly competition. Throughout his
Level 5 year, Jordan continued to evolve his skills, drawing inspiration from the
strength, flexibility, and talent of fellow gymnasts in the region. Under Coach Eric's
guidance and leadership, Jordan's potential shone brightly as he was placed in the
USAG Future Stars program, where he excelled and secured a spot on the Future Star
Development Team. During his Level 5 season, Jordan faced challenging skills but triumphed
by clinching his first 1st Place AA Medal with an impressive total score of 63.0 at
the Kazuki Nakamori Invitational. His success continued as he achieved 3rd place AA
in the NCBGA Championship and earned a well-deserved spot on the NCBGA All-Star Team,
further solidifying his remarkable gymnastics journey.
After his impressive achievements, Jordan proceeded to compete at the Regional 1 Championship,
where he faced fierce competition and encountered a significant setback after a major
fall on PBars. Despite the challenge, he demonstrated his resilience by securing 5th
place AA in a tightly contested event. Additionally, Jordan showcased his skill and
finesse by clinching 2nd place on Vault and High Bar, further highlighting his exceptional
talent and determination in the face of adversity. To conclude his remarkable year,
Jordan traveled to Colorado Springs to compete in the Future Star National Championship
alongside Coach Eric. At just 10 years old, Jordan's outstanding performance and dedication
earned him a coveted spot on the junior national team for future stars, marking a
remarkable achievement in his gymnastics career. During his level 6 season, Jordan
and Coach Eric had the heartwarming opportunity to reunite with his past coaches,
Jocelyn, Ben, and Glenn. Their collective support and encouragement became evident
as they cheered him on at HNI in Houston, Texas, creating a truly memorable and uplifting
experience for Jordan as he continues to pursue excellence in gymnastics.
